Glancing Ahead — This Evening. Auckland Choral Society’s Concert (Town Hall). Saturday.—Municipal Band Concert Town Hall). November 18.—Chamber Music Society. Not daunted by its bankruptcy of last year. New York's Beethoven Symphony Orchestra has started a campaign for a £1,000,000 endowment fund. A French publishing house, with rights to the ordinary Rimskified • Boris” of Mussorgsky, is suing an English publisher to prevent introduction into France of the newly issued version of the opera.
This evening Miss Kate Campion, pictured above as Butterfly iit “Madame Butterfly/' will appear with the Auckland Choral .Society in “Cavalleria Rusticana.” She was formerly with the Carl Rosa Opera Company in England and is the possessor o ,: a rich
