TYPOGRAPHICAL AWARD
CONCILIATION PROGRESS Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Proceedings in connection with the Dominion typographical dispute were commenced yesterday before a conciliation council. The commissioner, Mr. P. Hally, in opening the proceedings, referred with regret to the loss by death of three men long associated with the printing trade, Sir George Fenwick, of Dunedin, Mr. James Gamble, of Christchurch, and Mr. Xisbet Mcßobie, of Auckland. A motion of sympathy with the relatives was passed. Mr. G. C. Codlin expressed the pleasure of the assessors at the commissioner’s successful effort in securing a settlement in the Auckland slaughtermen’s dispute. The council went into committee to discuss the details of the typographical dispute. The assessors for the employers are Messrs. G. C. Codlin, C. \V. Earle. E. A. Blundell, P. Bond. G. Clark and W. Harris. The employees’ assessors.are Messrs. D. Rvrie. AY. Sinclair, H .Smeaton. J. W. Hatton. F. Marshall and AY. J. Simmonds.
Agreement Mas reached on several minor matters and the council then adjourned.
