ANTI-T.B. SCHEME
ASSISTANCE IN SCHOOLS CAMPAIGN PROPOSALS Suggestions made by the Health Department through the Education Department to assist in a movement to provide funds for ail anti-tubercu-losis campaign received the approval of the Auckland Education Board this morning. The campaign includes the provision of holiday homes and health camps for delicate children. The value of this point was emphasised by Mrs. N. E. Ferner, who is concerned in the Community Sunshine Association’s health camp this summer at Ostend, Waiheke Island. It was her motion to accede to the requests for assistance. A further suggestion is for the affixing of a “Christmas seal” to Christmas correspondence at an additional cost of one penny. The funds raised would be devoted to the campaign. The Health Department holds the view that a valuable method of disseminating information would be through the “Education Gazette.” Head teachers would be asked to explain to the pupils the significance of the “Christmas seal.” The department asked if the board favoured the suggestion.
