AN AIRWAY TO CANADA
FROM BRITAIN, VIA ICELAND AND GREENLAND NEGOTIATIONS PROCEEDING LONDON, Sunday. The Canadian Transport Company is in negotiation with Imperial Airways, Limited, for the inauguration of an air line between Britain and Canada via Scotland, Iceland and Greenl-nd. The longest non-stop stage would be 1,000 miles. The proposal is to employ six-engined flying-boats with accommodation for 50 passengers. The machines would be constructed to the Air Minstry’s specifications. A message from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, says the Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. W. L. Mackenzie King, stated that before he left Ottawa he had considered the possiblity of Government assistance being given toward an air line to connect the British Isles with Western Canada. Practical people were studying the question in the hope that the time would come when it would be possible to have breakfast in Canada and dine on the following evening in London.
