FALSE REPORT OF KING
STORY OF SUDDEN DEATH BROADCAST RADIO HOAX IN FRANCE LONDON, Sunday. A statement to the effect that King George had died suddenly from heart failure was broadcast from a Paris wireless station on the strength of an unverified telephone message. Twenty minutes later the controllers of the station discovered that they had been hoaxed, and issued a denial. Many English listeners In the meantime had heard the original message. There are many complaints about the possibility of such a falsehood being broadcast.
