PAPAKURA PRESENTATION
ODDFELLOWS’ FUNCTION A social evening was given to P.D.D.G.M. Bro. Douglas Pemberton, of tlio Franklin district (who is leaving for Australia tomorrow) by members of the Star of Papakura Lodge and the Elm Rebekah Lodge, in the Paragon Theatre, Papakura. Every lodge in the Franklin district was represented. The evening was spent in dancing, ping-pong, quoits, and items, by Bro. Len. Ivernot and Sister, Taylor, of Pukekohe (monoldgue). Bro. C. Allington, N.G., Star of Papakura Lodge, presented Bro. Pemberton with, a handsome wristlet watch on behalf of the two lodges. B.ro. A. Richardson, the oldest member, spoke in appreciative terms of the splendid services* Bro. Pemberton had given Oddfellowship. On behalf of the Franklin district, Bro. H. Barriball, D.D.G.M., presented Bro. Pemberton with a leather travetkng case, and expressed the district’s thanks to their guest for his valuable services. Other speakers were Sister G. Stewart, P.X.G., Elm Rebekah Lodge; Sister Robinson, Lily of Franklin, Waiuku; Bro. Robinson. Waiuku, X.G. of Excelsior (Pukekohe), and Bethesda (Pukekohe), Bro. W. Bond (Epsom). Bro. McKenzie (Clevedpn). Bro. Femberton suitably responded.
