BOY BREAKS GAOL

HELD ON MURDER CHARGE AT MILDURA RECAPTURED BY POLICE SYDNEY, Sunday. Eric Pike, aged 15i, escaped from the Mildura gaol. He has ’been held there on a charge of murdering William J. Smith, whose body was found on October 26 with 10 bullet wounds in the neck and chest. The boy cut a hole in the roof of his cell and escaped. He left a. note saying he was going home to see his mother, who lives at Essendon. Received 10.35 a.m. MELBOURNE, Today. Pike has been recaptured at Catwarp, 30 miles from Mildura.
