Steele, of Buckland, took place at All Saints’ Church, Ponsonby. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a charming frock of ivory georgette and a veil held in place by clusters of orange blossom. A shower bouquet completed a dainty toilette. The bridesmaid, Miss E. Ramsay, was frockcd in pale pink georgette finished with cream lace, and wore a pink tulle hat. She also carried a shower bouquet. Two little girls, Nell and Betty Boston, nieces of the bride, were dainty in pale pink crepe de chine and carried lovely baskets of flowers. Mr. M. Cole attended the bridegroom as best man. Following the ceremony a reception was held at Nairn’s Tearooms, Mrs. Cox receiving the guests in a beautiful frock of bois de rose crepe de chine, with hat to match. The bride travelled in an ensemble of duchess blue crepe de chine, with a lemon hat, and wore a fox fur, the gift of the bridegroom. The following is an almost infallible remover of most stubborn stains (even blankets stained with tea and Condy’s have yielded to it): Mix together % cup methylated spirit, £ cup peroxide of hydrogen, the juice of 2 large lemons, £ cup cloudy ammonia and i cup glycerine; strain and keep in a well-corked bottle. Apply it to stains, allow to stand for a while, then wash in the ordinary way. This cleanser will be found very useful for cleaning men’s coat-collars, felt hats, etc.
