AT DIXIELAND

Novelty Dance Numbers • CROWD OF DANCERS As usual, the gay decorations of ’ Dixieland, subtly transformed by the soft, subdued lighting which is characteristic of this popular cabaret, presented an attractive seen® on Saturday evening. Xovelty dance numbers, given in Auckland for the first time, were plaved by Mr. H. Xeilson a.r»d his orchestra, and were much appreciated. Chief among these items were “Big City Blues,' ‘Walking With Susie,” and “Break Away. There was a large number of dancers present, among whom were: Mrs. Albert Neville, who was wearing a charming frock of apple-green taffeta, Finished with a hem of silver lace. Mrs \V. L. Wiseman chose a burgundy lace frock, with a large flower as a finishing touch. Mrs. J. G. Gallagher was wearing white georgette with dianiente. Mrs. A. M. Bartley had on a taffeta frock in a lovely tone of lime. Mrs. Sadd wore a graceful frock of "Sirs, Ismafffiefd was in silver lace and georgette of mist-blue. Mrs. J. Xash chose a georgette frock of powder-blue, set off with a shawl of rose pink and black. Mrs. McGregor Smith was wearing a frock of black crepe faille, with sequined design. , _ Mrs. J. R. Hinterman chose a smart frock of bronze satin. A pastel-shaded lace frock was chosen by Mrs. Hunter. Mrs. Hazel Searle wore a frock of rippled ninon in lacquer red shade. Mrs. G. S. McGallan was wearing a chic frock of black georgette and tulle. A period frock of black taffeta was favoured by Mrs. C. Ring. Mrs. Pat Lichenstein had on a lovely frock of cameo pink georgette, with silver lace overdress. Ciel blue crepe suede with effective scarlet shoulder spray was chosen by Miss O. Sturt. FRILLED TULLE SKIRT \ delightful frock of phlox-pink chenille georgette, with skirt of frilled tulle was chosen by Miss Kitty Horton. Miss Rita Cornaga was in a frock of cardinal red georgette with edgings of B °mack georgette and tulle were chosen by Miss Johnston. Prettily shaded mauve georgette wae favoured by Miss Edna Rhodes. Miss W. Webster wore cameo pink georgette, with a large pink flower. Miss F. Miller was in embossed georgette in a becoming shade of orange. Miss Monk, had on a shot taffeta frock in shadings of tea-green and gold. Miss Raeside was wearing m non in a prettv shell-pink tint. Miss Roberton chose a black georgette and lace frock. Miss Sadler was in almond green taffeta. _ , Miss Rona Suisted wore a becoming frock of blonde lace. Miss Marjorie Suter wore white figured georgette. Miss Kathleen Miller was wearing a pale pink taffeta and tulle frock. VIEUX ROSE TAFFETA A charming frock of vieux rose taffeta and silver lace was chosen by Miss Myra Miss R. McVeagh was frocked in black mantilla lace, with dianiente trimming. Miss V. Cashel wore a lovely frock of old rose crepe de chine. Orange beaded georgette with silver trimming was chosen by Miss Brown. Miss Ruddenklaw wore crepe de chine in lupin blue with tulle skirt. , Willow-green crepe fleuri with a deep collar of mauve georgette was chosen by Miss Fay Scollard. Miss Bowles wore black ring velvet. Miss Foreman was in apple-green crepe de chine with uneven hemline. Miss L. Whitfield wore tatteta in a pale shade of apricot and silver. A chic frock of cedar rose taffeta waa worn by Miss Upham. Miss V. Thompson had on mist-blue georgette with beaded design in deep blue. Miss Hamilton was in a frock of ring velvet in a pale shade of lettuce green., A black taffeta period frock was chosen by Miss G. F. Kidd. Miss C. Wilson wore a delightful frockof blush pink georgette. Miss D. McArthur favoured flounced georgette in scarlet, with beaded design, in black and gold. A charming frock of white sprigged taffeta, with dianiente buckle, was worn by Miss Keys. Miss M. Dick had on larkspur blue taffeta. Miss Lorna Rowe was wearing ivorygeorgette, with a shoulder spray of pink roses. Miss G. Stone chose a frock of lavender lace over silver lame. Miss B. Cook looked smart in a frock of black cire lace. Moon-mist embossed georgette was worn by Miss Audrey Stevenson.

Miss Rhona Russel was in a delightful frock of pervenehe blue corded taffeta, with a deep hem of black and embroidered roses.
