NEPHEW ASSAULTED

UNCLE FINED £lO Press Association INVERCARGILL, Saturday. The case against Arthur Robert Blondell, farmer, of Waimatua, who was charged with assaulting his nephew, George Henry Tweedale, aged 16 years, was continued in the Police Court today before Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M. Accused, who was represented by Mr. Gordon Read, had previously pleaded not guilty. The case was adjourned last w*eek in order that evidence might be taken of the Child Welfare officer with regard to an interview between him and a younger brother of complainant. At the original hearing the magistrate intimated that he would be willing to hear any further evidence that would enable him to determine who was telling the truth. After hearing further evidence the magistrate convicted accused and imposed a fine of £lO.
