FIRE AT MANGERE
EMPTY HOUSE DESTROYED Shortly after two o'clock yesterday morning, an unoccupied seven-roomed wooden residence in Walmsley Road, Mangere, was totally destroyed by fire. The house was owned by Mr. H. Riley, but had been empty for some time. In the absence of a water supply nothing could be done to save the building, which was burned to the ground, only the chimneys remaining.
