SEVERE THUNDER STORM

TREES AND WIRES STRUCK From Our Own Correspondent PALMERSTON NORTH, Today. A severe thunder storm occurred yesterday in the Halcombe and Makino districts. At Makino the power lines were struck by lightning-, causing an Interruption o£ the service and fusing the cut-out and wires leading into a near-by house into a solid piece of metal. At another house a tree standing by the back door was cut off close to the ground. A woman living in the house was only a few feet away at the time but was not hurt.
