AFFORESTATION WORK AT WHANGAMATA CARRIED BY SPECIAL BOAT
Nearly a hundred Auckland men left for Whangamata on board the Northern Company's steamer Apanui at 7 o’clock this morning. The boat, which was chartered for the purpose, is taking the men to relief works which have been planned. The men were selected during the week. Arrangements have been made to house them at Whangamata, where they will be put on to develop a large area of Crown Land which is to be used for afforestation purposes.
