UNITED PARTY

WOMENS BRANCH FORMED A women’s branch of the United Political Association was formed at a meeting held by women of the Eden electorate in the Alethodist Hall, Dominion Road, on Thursday. Airs. N. von Sturmer, honorary organiser of the women’s branches, presided, and gave an address on questions concerning the party and the electorate. It was decided to hold meetings monthly and arrangements were completed for a social evening. Officers were elected as follow: President, Airs. Simmons: vice-presi-dents. Airs. Matthews and Airs. Goble; secretary. Airs. Goodall: treasurer, Mrs. Wilson. A committee of 15 was also chosen.
