STEAMER BREAKS DOWN
TOWED IN TO WANGANUI Press Association WANGANUI, Today. Th o Wanganui Harbour Board’s tug Kahanui, which was responsible for a fine piece of salvage work last year when she towed the Gale to Wellington, was yesterday called on to go to Himft SSlStanC t-° f the coasta l steamer Himitangi, which broke down owing to engine trouble when one and a-half miles out of port.
favo,^H a i ely w-eather conditions favoured the operation and the Himitangi was successfully towed to berthage at the wharf at 4 p.m. The trouble was n.t serious and the vessel left again at 4 p.m. today.
