This is a detective story dealing with the perfect alibi from the pen of the great detective writer, S. S. van Dine. William Powell has the role of Philo Vance, master detective, who assists the police on the mysterious murder of a New York chorus girl (Eouise Brooks). Six people have both the motive and the opportunity to commit the murder, and the suspense is maintained until the ve,rj r end. A number of entertaining short talkie items complete this evening’s programme.
