PENNY PHONE CALL
CHANGE AT ELLERSLIE For telephone calls from Ellerslie in the public box, users will have to pay one penny in future, instead ot the twopenny system under which the service has been conducted. This has been notified to Mr. TV. J. Jordan, M.P. for Manukau, by the Postmaster-General, the Don. J. B. Donald. The request was first declined, but Mr. Jordan maintained his representations until success was gained. Considerable inconvenience has caused by the twopenny system, and on occasions Ellerslie users went to phone boxes in neighbouring localities. The change will be made as soon as possible.
