CHARING CROSS STATION

WILL TAKE FIVE YEARS TO COMPLETE British Official Wireless RUGBY, Thursday. The Minister of Transport, Mr. Herbert Morrison, in the House of Commons today made a statement about the construction of the new Charing Cross station on the south side of the Thames to replace rhe present station on the north side. He said that before the construction of The new station could be commenced it would be necessary to clear the site :Tud provide housing accommodation for the people of the working class who would be displaced. It was estimated that the construction of the new station would take not less than five years from the date of the Royal assent to the Bill which was to be introduced this session.
