PONSONBY COLLISION
MOTOR-LORRY AND TRAMCAR DRIVERS ESCAPE INJURY A motor-lorry and a tramcar were both considerably damaged in a collision in Ponsonby Road about three o’clock yesterday afternoon. No one was injured. The tram had just turned into Ponsonby Road from Karangahape Hoad when it collided with the motor-lorry, which was turning round to go back into Karangahape Road. The lorry was pushed along against a tramway centre-pole. The driver, Mr. R- d. Caltaux, of Avondale, escaped injury, but his lorry was badly smashed. The front of the tramcar was smashed in and the motorman had * lucky escape from serious injury. Several passengers in the tram were showered with broken glass. The lorry was towed to the sida of the road and the tram was drive 0 aw-ay under its own power.
