£l3l TAKEN FROM BOARD From Our Own Correspondent WANGANUI. Today. The secretary of the Hunterville Rabbit Board, Roy Douglas Powell, was charged in the Wanganui Magistrate’s Court yesterday with stealing the sum of £l3l 14s 6d from the board. lie pleaded guilty. The chairman of the board. Mr. Robert Dalziell, said Powell had been secretary since 1924. Witness knew that restitution had been made. William John Kane, inspector attached to the Audit Department, and Detective Revell also gave evidence. Detective Revell said accused had made a frank statement to the police. He had found it difficult to make ends meet and had been tempted to make the defalcation. Powell was committed to the Supreme Court at Palmerston North for sentence.
