Writing to the secretary of the Dar* gaville Dental Clinic Committee. Mr. C. S. Rush, tlie Hon. A. J. StallWorthy. Minister of Health, stated that his department would use every facility in its power to erect the new / clinic. The new clinic is to be erected on the infant school grounds. Mr. G. C. Robson, of Ruawai, was this week appointed to fill the vacancy on the committee of the Northern Wairoa Herd-Testing Association caused by the departure from the district of his brother, Air. F. Robson. Mr. Percy Hall presided at the meeting, when it was decidc*d to donate prizes of 30s and 10s fox* a class of .marked heifers, born srnce June 30, 1925, to be shown at the North Kaipara A. and P. Association's show at Paparoa.

“Pets’ Day” at the Dargaville School, an annual event, was celebrated on Wednesday, when a large sum of money was realised to augment a fund to benefit the school library, and provide sports equipment, first aid outfits and incidentals. The Rev. J. C. Fussell gave a brief talk to the children on “Kindness to Animals.” Mr. G. H. Wansbone’s trophy for the bestkept pet was awarded to Ada Stubbs, whose pet was a dog. Ernest Angus was placed second for his pair of pigeons and Logan Williams third for his horsf. Several stalls, conducted by the classes, reported good business. Dr. Greville judged a baby show and declared a dead-heat between th«* babies of Mrs. Norman Bradley and Mrs. H. A. Smith. Master L. Shudder won a go4f-putting competition. A queen carnival was held in conjunction with the effort, Mis Ella McCulloch (Std. VI.) topping the poll. Following in the order mentioned were:—Misses Freda Cliffe (Form 3). Maisie Dell (Form 4), Betty. Watters (St. 4), Joy Crump (Std. 5), Pam Berry. (St. 3), Betty Goulding (Std. 2). Tne amount realised is in the vicinity of £lO3, which is £2O in excess of last year’s total. v
