SPEEDWAY RACING

FIRST MEETING POSTPONED That the opening motor race meeting of the season, fixed to take place on the Mangere Speedway be postponed until Saturday, December 7, was a recommendation made at a meeting of the Auckland Automobile Racing Club last evening. It was found that the fixture this month clashed with the Otahuhu Trotting Club’s meeting, and with yacht and launch racing. A report was received to the effect that the Auckland Motor Racing Club, the body responsible for motor-cycle grass track racing at Takapuna, was willing to combine with the Automobile Racing Club’s programme. After a lengthy discussion it was resolved that both bodies should meet next Tuesday evening, and it was suggested that an offer be made to include four motorcycle events on the programme for December 7.
