Rates for best Delicious are again high. ! In the markets this week bananas j have been scarce and dear. New ; stocks will arrive from Samoa next ! week, and the Island shipment by the j Tofua will then be ripe. ! Nelis pears are finished. Other lines } are well stocked. No more tomatoes will be brought ! direct from the Cook Islands, although small lots may come through Wellington. Strawberries have not changed in price. Californian, Island, and Australian oranges are on sound markets. A large shipment of Canadian apples will arrive by the Ao.rangi on Monday. Vegetables in season are all heavily supplied.
