YE OLDE PIRATE SHIPPE
The next big dancing attraction on Ye Olde Pirate Shippe will be on Saturday evening next, when (lan< ing will be enjoyed to a late hour to music by that exceedingly popular combination, “Ye Versatile Pirates Band.” There are few stars of the cin* rna world who would risk the possible danger of allowing three members of her cast to run “wild” in parts almost as colourful and important as her own, yet Norma Talmadge does this in “Now York Nights,” her first all-talking picture. Gilbert Roland, her leading man for the fourth consecutive time, portrays a characterisation that is almost a starring role in its own right. The same applied to John Wray, the distinguished New York actor-playwright who is the “villain.” T.ilyan Tashman as the chorus girl-friend of Miss Talmadge at almost overshadows : the star. V
