PERMIT GRANTED
HAMPTON COURT FLATS APPROVED CONDITIONS SPECIFIED Subject to certain restrictions, a permit has been granted for the erection of Hampton Court, a large block of flats to be built at the corner of Vincent and Wellesley Streets. This was decided at a special meeting of the Town-Planning Committee of the Auckland City Council yesterday afternoon. The Hampton Court scheme is estimated to cost about £32,000 and was first proposed early this year. On September 17 formal application for a permit was received by the City Council and the Town-Planning Committee refused to grant the permit until the Town-Planning Board’s decision concerning the Marlborough Mansions “bachelor flats” was known. The council had empowered the committee to act at yesterday’s meeting. The committee received a deputation in connection wiUjt the withholding of a permit for flats in Emily Place, and discussion was adjourned until tomorrow'.
