GIANT PETITION ON ELSIE WALKER CASE MEMBERS IMPRESSED THE SU V'iS Parliamentary Reporter PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Today. Even if the present Parliament has not been remarkable for the amount of business put through in a long time, at least it will have one claim to distinction, for it will have received probably the largest petition tor many years. This was presented this afternoon by the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, Minister of Health, and was signed by 15,348 people, with 300 more names to come. The petition prays for legislation to reopen an inquest and for steps for reopening the Elsie Walker inquest in particular. Wien Mr. Stallworthy announced that he had the petition, not much notice was taken at first, but members pricked up their ears and looked earnest when they saw that the petition consisted of sheets and sheets of names, enough to fill a smaK suitcase. It was triton among minnows, even considering some of the large gaming petitions. A messenger gathered the pile in his arms and did his duty nobly in presenting the pile to the Clerk of the House.
