“CUB FATHER TO LION”
“PUNCH” ON AUSTRALIAN LABOUR LONDON, October 22. Apropos of the Australian elections, “Punch” prints a Sir Bernard Partridge cartoon depicting the British lion struglging along on his hind legs, waving a banner inscribed “Labour Government,” followed by a cub bearing a similar insignia. The legend below is headed, “The cub is father of the lion,” and runs thus:— “British Lion: He’s 'following in father’s footsteps, copying the dear old dad.’
Australian Cub: Copying indeed! I thought of it first.”
