GARAGE ON FIRE

BLOW LAMP RESPONSIBLE FOR OUTBREAK ROOF SLIGHTLY DAMAGED The accidental overturning of a blow-lamp was responsible for an outbreak of fire on the roof of the Ferry Garage, Albert Street, shortly after 11 o’clock this morning. Only slight damage was done. The roofing was being repaired when a blow-lamp’fell over and the malthoid roofing caught fire. Clouds of. black smoke poured forth, but the brigade was quickly in attendance and the fire put out, very little damage being done. The building, which is owned by Mr. G. Henning, is occupied by Messrs. J. L. Gavey and S. Hunter.
