CLOSING TOMORROW BUSINESS QUEEN LEADING The queen carnival at Birkenhead to raise funds for a fire brigade definitely closes tomorrow at 7.30 p.m. Any money paid in after that time will not benefit the respective queens but will be added to the general fund. Each committee is now striving to get its queen at the top of the poll. The flags on the council chambers indicating the voting will be altered tomorrow every time money is paid in. Following is the position of the queens today:— Business queen, 21,600 votes. Friendly Societies’ queen, 19,200 votes.

Labour queen. 11,940 votes. Birkdaie queen, 6,522 votes.
