Radio Exhibition
OFFICIAL OPENING TONIGHT
AUCKLAND'S lirst big radi Town Hall at 7.30 tonight, the Hon. J. B. Donald, will pe radio from Wellington. Thi exhibition of radio apparatus and it is anticipated that it wil in radio from all parts of th< The exhibition will be held in the < main town hall. There will be 21 ; stands occupied by the various radio dealers, who have shown much enthusiasm in organising the exhibition. The stands will show everything of interest to those who already have radio sets or who contemplate taking up this fascinating hobby. The display will include table and console models of the latest all-electric sets, and for those who prefer, or who from force of circumstances are compelled to use them, batteries will also be displayed. The amateur and constructor will lie able to inspect the latest gadgets and kit sets, and by visiting the various stalls make comparisons at liis leisure. The Amateur Radio Transmitters’ Associtaion, “Radio Record,” and \ew Zealand Radio” have also arranged interesting displays. MODEL STUDIO AT WORK On the entertainment side of the exhibition the Broadcasting Company is actively co-operating. For each evening the exhibition is open IYA has arranged special programmes to be broadcast from a model studio in the Town Hall, in full view of all visitors. Each programme will be divided into sections, or “concertettes,” as they may be called, intervals of ten minutes intervening, during which time visitors to the exhibition will be able to move around and inspect the many receiving sets which will be on view. During these intervals items will be broadcast from IYA Studio. The presentation of the items from the model studio at the exhibition will be carried through precisely in the same manner as are the evening concerts produced at IYA. The announcer will announce in full view of his audience, and the model studio will be complete with the full necessary equipment. In addition to the presentation of the concert programme the children’s session will also take place.
