Obituary

MR. R. J. LEVIES Mr. Richard John Levies, who died at New stead yesterday at the age of 84. was born in County Cork, Ireland, and came to New Zealand in the ship Brodrick Castle, living in Auckland, Waiuku, Whangarei and Cambridge. He settled in Xewstead 50 years ago and had lived there ever since. For many years he was a member of the Xewstead School Committee anil was an active supporter of the Church of England. He was an enthusiastic member of the Waikato Hunt Club. Mr. Levies is survived by three sons and four daughters. MR. F. A. MOORE One of the oldest residents of Onehunga, Mr. Frederick Alexander Moore, died at his home in Quadrant Street, Onehunga, at the age of 81. In his younger days Mr. Moore was a member of the well-known firm of Moor© and 'Webb, market gardeners. In 1887 he was married to Miss Mageret McKenzie. Dissolving his partnership with the late Mr. R. Webb, Mr. Moore successfully farmed at Hikutaia. He retired about 17 years ago, but on the outbreak of the war, when his four sons went to the front, Mr. Moore resumed charge of the property. He was a staunch Freemason, and a foundation member of Lodge Manukau. Mr. Moore, who was also a life member of the Order of Good Templars. and one of the first to join S ilvation Army in On eh survived by his wife, four sons and five daughters.
