BOXING TOURNEY

TAKAPUNA GRAMMAR SCHOOL The first boxing tournament of the Takapuna Grammar School was held in the Green Mill, Takapuna, last evening, when parents and old boys of the school went to see the bouts. The referee, Mr. G. Bush, congratulated the boys on their performance. The medal for the most scientific boxer was won by Hurren. Results are as follow: Heavy-weight.—Final: Stevenson beat Leggett. Middle-weight.—Semi-final: Kidcl beat Newell. Final: Kidd beat Buckley. Light-weight.—Final: Sidford beat McIndoe. Feather-weight,—Sem i -finals: Adams beat Stevens; Giirr beat 'Waters. Final: Quit beat Adams. Bantam-weight.—Semi-finals: Kissen beat Yarnton; McClenaghan beat Martin. Final: Kissen beat McClenaghan. Paper-weight.—Semi-final: ITurren beat Jackson. « Final: Hurren beat Murtagh. Special Weight, under sst 71b. —Hillier beat Ormiston.
