FARMER CONFESSES TO POLICE A BLOOD-STAINED SPADE Reed. 11 a.m. MELBOURNE, Today. ! A man entered the Casterton police | station and said he had killed his wife on a small farm near the town. The police found the body of Emily j Pickens, with her head badly battered, and a blood-stained spade near by John Pickens was later charged with murder.
