FIRE BRIGADE SOCIAL
PRESENTATION OF HONOURS FUNCTION AT CENTRAL STATION The annual social, dance and presentation of honours of the Auckland Central Fire Brigade was held at the fire station, Pitt Street, on Monday evening. There were about 150 firemen, friends and representatives of other brigades present. The guests included Mr. J. J. Kingston, chairman of the Auckland Fire Board, and Mr. A. J. Patterson, member of the board. Superintendent W. L. Wilson presided. During the evening the medals and honours were presented by Mr. Kingston, and after supper dancing was held. The honours list is as follows: Three Years’ Certificates. —Firemen A. Hellreigel, L. Rogerson, C. Reid, J. Maughan, W. Varnham, M. Pierce, C. Fearon, P. Slines, R. Hall, T. Davis. Five Years’ TJ.F.B.A. Service Medal.— Firemen A. Barnett, W. Sykes, J. Taylor, Driver B. Glennon. Five Years’ Auckland Fire Board's Service Medal.—Fireman W. Sykes, Driver D. Glennon. TJ.F.B.A. Gold Star.—Fireman A. Sandall (25 years). TJ.F.B.A. Gold Bar.—Fireman W. Williamson (41 years). TJ.F.B.A. Two Years’ Service Bars.— Dept. Supt. ”G. W. Avenell (17 years), Foreman L. Kmslie (17 years), Foreman F. Herring (13 years), Third Officer C. Maguire (13 years), Foreman R. McKay (nine years), Fireman D. Kelleher, senr. (15 Driver C. Harper (21 years), Firemen W.
