Kddie Dowling, the famous singing comedian and romantic actor of the Broadway stage, appears in the leadr„g role, and establishes himself firmly as a ‘'talkie" player of the first rank. Opposite Dowling, Miss Marian Nixon gives another tine performance which has earrfed her the title of The Maty Pickford of the talking screen. The most popular songs included the action of the film lire ‘‘Rainbow Man” “Smile Little Pal.” and Sleepy Valley." The songs, which are introduced' into the picture at opportune moments in a perfectly natural mann» r have become exceedingly popular wherever the picture has been shown. Many noted players appear in the large supporting cast, and each member gi\ es a. talented performance. A band of old-time minstrels which wore so popular in the past, was specially chosen to supply a number of singing sequences, and its work should be a pleasing feature of the entertamm.The film deals with the career of the Rainbow Man, a vaudeville actor travelling with an itinerant company, who adopts the son of an injured aeiohat The two travel with the company through a little Southern town, where the Rainbow Man falls in love with Mary Lane, daughter of the hotel pionrietor.
