MUSSOLINI’S MESSAGE TO FOLLOWERS PUZZLE FOR EXCAVATORS ROME, Friday. The Prime Minister, Signor Mussolini, as spectacular as ever, issued a message to the “Blackshirts of Italy, in connection with the eighth Fascist new year, beginning on October 28. He refers to what has been done in “Year V 11.,” and proceeds.: “Year VIII. will be no less rich in effort and fruitful in work.” The practice of dating the years from the commencement of the Fascist era is widespread in Italy. Stone tablets, inscribed Anno VII., on many houses and monuments, bid fair to be a first-class puzzle for escalators centuries hence.
