NO SIGN OF BOY
GISBORNE MYSTERY MISSING FIVE DAYS Press Association GISBORNE, Today. Despite an extensive search by a large body of police, boy scouts, and the general public, no news can be gained of the six-year-old boy who was missed at the showgrounds during People’s Day on Wednesday last. The lake at the showgrounds, which had been previously dragged, was drained yesterday afternoon, and large bodies of helpers are out in ail directions. The fire brigade’s trailer pumps were engaged all last night in pumping out the pond, 525,000 gallons being lifted and the water-level reduced to a foot, after which volunteers made a complete search of the weeds and slime at the bottom. They found no trace of the missing child.
