BOUND FROM AUCKLAND TO THE GREAT BARRIER, the S.S. Apanui dropped its propeller at about 2.15 this morning, when three miles outside Tiri. The tug Kumea went to the Apanui’s assistance and is seen towing the larger vessel back to Auckland, which it reached about noon.
