Kerosene Treatment Used in Second Case
CANCEROUS GROWTH DARGAVILLE SUCCESS From Our Own Correspondent DARGAVILLE, Today. The publication of the reported cure of cancer by the use of kerosene at Hamilton has led to the discovery of a somewhat similar case at Dargaville. About five years ago Mr. Frank Bell, of Victoria Road, Dargaville. commenced to be troubled by a malignant affection on his face, just behind the right eye. The first symptoms were a pricking sensation, as though a minute splinter had entered the skin. A sore of malignant aspect quickly developed and grew in size alarmingly into what was diagnosed as a cancerous ulcer. Despite various methods of treatment the growth gradually increased in size. The affection had increased to a size considerably larger than that of a half-crown, and was encroaching near the eye, when the sufferer commenced to apply kerosene about the edges of the growth. Beneficial results were apparent very shortly and accordingly. Mr. Beil made a regular practice during the past month, of applying a little kerosene, in its cold state, to the extremities of the sore, several times a day. Astounding results followed and the sore has now decreased in size to about that of a sixpence. Mr. Bell, who is 74 years of age. i* confident that the treatment will cure the growth. Applications were made just about the edges of the growth, to cure from the outside toward the centre, and on the outer Parts of the growth clean, new healthy skin is now apparent. MR. WHITE STILL CONVINCED From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON', Today. A reply to the comments made by Or. J. s. Elliott, president of the British Medical Association, on his alleged cancer cure, was made today by Mr. L. X. White, of Frankton. “It has been suggested by Or. Elliott and others,” he said, “that I never suffered from cancer. My answer to this is that Dr. Frank Macky and Dr. McDougall, of Auckland, diagnosed my case as one of cancel*. They said it was incurable. “If there was no cancer I now ask these gentlemen to come and refute their previous statements.’ As further evidence that lie must nave been affected by cancer, Air. White stated that at the time '"'ben the disease iirst assailed him he amis forking for the Railway Department. L>r. Ross, of Otahuhu, certified that l he growth might have been caused as * result of a bruise or knock incurred ht connection with his duties, and the department placed Mr. White on hairPay during his stay in the hospital. Mr. White said that if at the time be had been told by his medical advisers that the growth was not cancer he would have had no hesitation in claiming full compensation oi •£SOO from the department. Ho could fcot understand Dr. Elliott’s statement that kerosene possessed no drawing Powers. Water, when cold, had no drawing powers, but when heated Proved invaluable and was used witn Poultices and hot fomentations. n "ater acted this way. how much more effective would be kerosene? Mr. White said he had accepted tne offer of a visit to another part of tn country to investigate a case *> his own. as all expenses would be Paid. H© intended leaving on Sunday
