David Hird, at Opotiki, and stealing a watch and chain valued at £ls, Francis Vernon, 55, was remanded to appear at Opotiki. He admitted entering the house of the Rev. W. E. Lambert, of Thames, stealing two leather purses valued at and £2 5s in money. Evidence was given that accused was arrested on a charge of vagrancy when on the road to Whangamata. After his arrest he dropped a purse on the road.
