Market at Midday A comparatively healthy turnover ■war registered at midday. The weakness in the market for • ommercials of Australia continues to he one of the features of the bankinggroup. The market for this scrip feil I<l to sales at 27s 3d yesterday after- ! noon, and sellers at this morning's

early call at 27s 2d failed to bring off a sale. The market was slightly firmer at midday. At yesterday afternoon’s market price the return on investment is approximately £5 10s Id per cent. Unions continue weak, and further sales have been reported at £l4 10s, a price which allows a return of approximately £ 5 3s 5d per cent. A healthy tone is registered in the local group, the market for one or two shares showing a firming tendency. Taupiris moved up to 30s, a price which allows a return of approximately £6 13s 4d per cent. One of the features of the miscellaneous group is the slightly weaker tendency of the market for Amalgamated Zincs. Nothing has been reported which has any direct bearing on the earning capacity of the company, and it seems that the shares are merely suffering in the general weakness. Waihi Mining scrip, approaching a dividend, is very firm, Kuala. Kampar Tins are weaker, partly as a result of the reported decline in the price of tin, and partly as a result of the general depression. Dividends Payable . . Due.
