STEAMER ON FIRE
BLAZE IN TWO HOLDS NOW UNDER CONTROL ON WAY TO AUSTRALIA Australian and JS T .Z. Press Association Reed. 10 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. The owners of the steamer Telemachus received a wireless message from the captain, stating that a fire in two holds of the ship was under control. An explosion occurred, but it was not serious. The Telemachus is half-way across the Indian Ocean. The Telemachus, a steamer of 7,450 tons, is owned by the Ocean Steamship Company, and her port of registry is Liverpool. The ship left Antwerp on September 21 for Australian ports. She was at Port Said on October 6.
