THEODORE CHOSEN AS TREASURER MINISTRY SWORN IN Australian and ."V. Z. Prcs3 Association CANBERRA, Tuesday. The Labour caucus today unanimously elected Mr. J. H. Seullin Leader and Mr. E. G. Theodore DeputyLeader of the party. Eleven other members were selected as their colleagues in the new Cabinet. The Ministers and their portfolios are: Prime Minister and External Affairs. —Mr. J. H. Seullin. Treasurer.—Mr. E. G. Theodore. Vice-President of the Executive Council. —Mr. J. J. Daly. Attorney-General.—Mr. F. Brennan. Customs.—Mr. J. E. Fenton. Postmaster-General.—Mr. J. A. Lyons.
Health and Repatriation. Mr. F Anstey. Defence.—Mr. A. E. Green. Home Affairs. —Mr. A. Blakeley. Markets and Migration.—Mr. P. J. Moloney. Honorary Ministers. Messrs. J. Barnes, J. A. Beasley and F. M. Forde. Mr. Barnes is also Assistant-Minister of Western Railways, Mr. Beasley, Assistant-Minister of Industries, and Mr. Forde, Assistant-Minister of Trade and Customs. Mr. N. J, O. Makin will be elected Speaker as soon as the House of Representatives meets. Mr. D. C. McGrath was appointed Chairman of Committees. The new Ministry was sworn in late this afternoon. Up till now, the Commonwealth Cabinet has consisted of 12 members who are paid salaries and allowances not exceeding, in all, £25,300 a year.
DEATH FOLLOWS WIN TASMANIAN INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE VOTED AGAINST MR. BRUCE Reed. 10 a.m. HOBART, Today. Too ill to attend the declaration of the poll yesterday, Mr. W. McWilliams, the victorious Independent candidate for Franklin in the General Elections, died last night. Mr. McWilliams voted against the Bruce Government when it was defeated.
