VARSITY ROWING

CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING The annual general meeting of the Auckland University College Rowing Club was held in the University College, there being a good attendance of members. The chairman, Mr. L. E. Brooker, congratulated the members upon the sound condition the club was in, and also the four University Colleges of the Dominion for the progress made in rowing. The election of officers resulted: President. Mr. Roche O’Shea; vice-pre-sidents, Hon. Sir George Fowlds, Professor R. M. Algie, Dr. W. H. Horton, Mr. J. Hallyburton Johnson; captain, Mr. L. E. Brooker; vice-captain, Mr. C. T. Keegan; secretary, Mr. J. K. Hunn; treasurer, Mr. F. F. Simmons; management executive, Messrs. A. Ross, W. J. Lowe, G. Watt, G. Field; delegates to Auckland Rowing Association, Messrs. L. E. Brooker, J. K. Hunn. F. F. Simmons. An interesting discussion ensued upon financial matters, and schemes were advanced for the purchaso of a racing boat. »
