SOCCER FOOTBALL

CONTROL BOARD MEETS The control board of the Auckland Football Association met last evening, the chairman, Mr. A. Menzies, presiding. Mr. A. J. Harding intimated his intention of presenting medals to the winners of the senior grade B competition. It was decided to write to the donor thanking him for his generosity. The Thistle Cltib lodged a protest against extra time being played in the Thistle Cup final last Wednesday night. It was resolved to advise the Thistle Club that it was absolutelv necessary that the game be decided that night, and that the rules contain the provision that the control board may order extra time to be played not exceeding 20 minutes. As the protest had undoubtedly arisen out of a misinterpretation of the rules, it was decided to return the protest fee.
