CUNFISH, Sunshower. Jacy Logan and Jean McElwyn, members of Roy Berry's team claiming engagements at Alexandra Park this week-end, were competitors at New Brighton on Saturday last, where they raced prominently. Jacky Logan, from the time point of view, was the star attraction, tramping twelve furlongs in 3.28 1-5 off a 3.39 mark, which will make his Epsom prospects bright off 3.35. Game little Jean McElwyn again went a sound, consistent race and should break the spell before the Auckland meeting is over. Sunfish won a mile saddle heat in 2.15 2-5 from a 2.17 peg, so has been given the full penalty of 36 yards in being brought back to 2.14 in the Auckland mile. Sunshower, who started in the big race, failed to gain a berth, but as she ran vA/el! forward should make her presence felt at Epsom.
