Obituary

MRS. HENRY COOK Well known in New Zealand croquet circles, Mrs. Henry Cook died at her home in Karori, Wellington, last week at the age of 83. Arriving in New Zealand with her family at the age of 14. Mrs. Cook married Mr. James Stoddart and after his death married the late Mr. Henry Cook, who died about four years ago. Mrs. Cook was enthusiastically and actively interested in croquet and was the founder of the Karori Club and the new Rangimaire Club. MR. JOHN LETHBRIDGE A well-known businessman of Dunedin. Mr. John Lethbridge, died at Dunedin on Sunday at the age of 72. Born in Devonshire, Mr. Lethbridge came to New Zealand as a young man and joined the staff of Dalgety and Company. Later he was given the management of the Dunedin branch of the firm, a position which he held, until his retirement in 1923. Mr. Lethbridge was chairman of directors of Donughy’s Rope and Twine Company and was also a director of the Mosgiel Woollen Company. He held positions on the directorates of the Dunedin Saleyards Company and the Victoria Insurance Company. Mr. Lethbridge is survived by his wife, one toou and one daughter.
