THREE MONTHS FOR AGED VAGRANT “It is all I can do witli him,” said Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the Police Court this morning, when sentencing William Bartley, aged 63, to three months’ imprisonment on a charge of vagrancy. Bartley, described as a seaman, had only sixpence in his possession when arrested, and was believed to havo no fixed place of abode. He pleaded not guilty, and Constable Cook said that he had arrested the old man in Albert Street at six o’clock last evening, after first accosting him. as he looked ill. He lived at the dossliouse when possible. “He has a long record, and is badly in need of a clean-up,” observed SubInspector McCarthy. “He has been discharged from hospital, and is now only loitering about the streets.”
