Mr. K. W. McVilly arrived by the Limited today. jjr. J. A. Young, M.P.. was a passenger South la%t evening. Mr. H. K Jenkins, M.P., left for Wellington last evening. Mr. M. J. Savage, M.P., and Mr. A. Harris, M.P., left for Wellington last evening. The Hon. K. A. Ransom, Minister of public Works, returned to Wellington last evening. Mr. G. G. Stewart, editor of the Railways Magazine, arrived by the Limited this morning. Mr. V. Stanley, railways business agent at Wellington, arrived in Auckland this morning. The Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, Minister of Health, was a passenger to Wellington last evening. Ml*. C. G. Macindoe, who returned from Australia this morning, has been appointed vice-president of the Petroleum Association of Australasia, and _Xexv' Zealand representative on the board. Sir George Julius is the president. Mr. H. I>. Tomlinson. M.A., a senior assistant master at Wellington College, has been appointed principal of the Wairarapa High School in succession to Dr. G. H. Utley, who has been appointed rector of Southland Boys’ High School. There were 31 applicants.— PA. Commissioner J. Hay, who has been territorial commander of the Salvation Army in New Zealand for the past three years, and Mrs. Hay, will leave tomorrow tor Toronto, where Commissioner Hay will assume command of Army activities in Canada Hast. Colonel L. Taylor, who recently arrived from Canada, will be in command iri New Zealand until the arrival of Commissioner Cunningham early in
