NO LIGHTS ON CAR
MOTORISTS’ NOVEL EXCUSE When caught driving without headlights on his car, William N. House told the Onehunga police that his lights had failed in the city, and that a traffic inspector there had told him him to drive on without them, according to a statement in the Onehunga Police Court today. “It is a great pity that those traffic inspectors are not here,” commented the magistrate. Mr. F. H. Levin. “I would hav had great pleasure in fining them. It is ridiculous to foil a man to drive from Auckland to Onehunga without lights.’’ House was fined 20s.
